I have been experimenting quite a bit lately with sepia and some more “colorful” split tones for a short story I am working on and thus far — I’m pleasantly surprised with the results.

I’m attempting to create imagery for a few outdoor dream sequences and I love how these contrasts (like the one above) set an almost surreal scene while being grounded by a limited color span as not to be too “distracting”.

I’ve also done a few in a magenta tone, but I’ll save that for an upcoming post when I can present them all together.

I’d love to hear what you think of this and when you find yourself using sepia or split tones, if ever. Please feel free to share.
