desire sprouted
It sang sweet words, an ancient soul-tongue
Hungry pencils comb:
The fireglaze, the steamy scent
Of Inspiration-loam.
(I crave it so bad / My thought-bursts fly mad)
The furtive Muse seduces me,
Coos lullabies to depths
Encrusted blank-ghouls, grainy waves
Of destinies bereft.
A Californian redwood’s trunk
Dims litanies of dreams;
Birds weave child-homes of golden twill
Outshining stray inseams.
Fidgety finger-rays of sun
grip stormclouds with warmth-dance —
the longing waltz of Edelweiss
among the starving amaranth.
Capricious Spirit flits around
and oft reveals my head
accommodates chaotic Temp’rals —
Left unspoken, dead.
